About Maryann Meade
Maryann Meade, founder and director of Maryann Meade and Associates since 1990, is a registered dietitian and certified diabetes educator who has worked in the nutrition profession for over 35 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in foods and nutrition from Marywood University completed a 12 month dietetic internship at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Bronx, N.Y. and earned her graduate degree from the University of Connecticut. In 2003 Maryann completed requirements for the diabetes educator certification.
Throughout her career, Maryann has worked in a wide variety of health care settings. including out patient and in patient health environments. She has also served as adjunct faculty member at the University of Connecticut, as marketing director for a wellness company, and she has done media work for local T.V. and radio stations.
Maryann is active in the American Dietetic Associating having held many offices at the state and national level. She is currently the delegate for business and consultation in the House of Delegates of the American Dietetic Association. Professional commitments on behalf of ADA include lobbying at the local and national level on behalf of good health and wellness for all Americans.
In her private time Maryann enjoys entertaining and creative ways to prepare foods. She also enjoys listening to music, going to the theatre, singing in the community chorus and reading. For exercise she enjoys ballroom dancing, swimming and cross country skiing. She loves spending time with her three children and her five grandsons.
